Tutor Profile
Freshman at Rice University
Majoring in Anthropology, and History

Gender:
Female

Preferred Subjects
Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, SAT, English (Writing), Latin, and History

Experience:

It's fair to say that I have been tutoring my entire life. As kindergartener, I helped my classmates learn how to read; since then, I have helped four younger sisters with their schoolwork and tutored peers in math, English, and Latin throughout all of high school.

I am a very patient and good-humored person and believe that learning and fun should not be mutually exclusive. Imparting knowledge is truly a pleasure for me!

With an SAT score of 2280 (760 Verbal, 730 Math, 790 Writing) and being a winner of the Maureen O'Donnell Oxford Classical Dictionary Award for four gold medals (Summa Cum Laude) on the National Latin Exam, as well as numerous other academic awards, I feel that I am extremely qualified to tutor high schoolers in any of these subjects.

As of now, I have successfully completed the single variable calculus curriculum and am taking several history and anthropology courses at Rice University, all of which will certainly add to my abilities as a tutor.

Hobbies:

I am a social creature, so good company invariably makes me happy! I have been singing and acting for as long as I can remember, and other favorite pastimes include reading, ballroom dancing, listening to music from all over the world, and watching movies

Hourly Rate:
$20.00/hr

Available Days/Times:
Tues/Thurs after 4PM
Friday after 3PM

Lives Near:
77005 zip code

Click here to contact this tutor

I have been taken several courses in math and physics. I will have a minor in math by next semester. Right now, I am taking complex analysis. I like teaching. I had to give math and physics tutorials for my classmates in high school.

Hobbies:

I can provide you with help in math and physics by explaining theories and solving examples. I can teach any course up to calculus 3 in math and physics 2 in physics. My major concern is that the student understands the material and get high grades.

Hourly Rate:
$35.00/hr

Available Days/Times:
Weekdays after 1PM
Weekends at any time

Lives Near:
77096 zip code

Click here to contact this tutor

I am originally from India, but am living in houston from August 2004. I believe my oral communication skills are as good as one else's. I am doing my PhD in Materials chemistry/nanotechnology and interested in teaching students basic sciences. I do not have any previous experience of tutoring students, but I have mentored 5 undergraduate students @ Rice in my laboratory and also directed an organic chemistry laboratory (consisting of 50 students) for 2 consecutive years. I think as a tutor I will try to make the student interested in any subject as I personally feel that anyone can excel on something if he/she is interested in it.

Hobbies:

I am basically a simple and friendly person.
Houston Tutor Profile: Psychology major at the University of Houston-Main Campus

Tutor Profile
Junior at the University of Houston-Main Campus
Majoring in Psychology

Gender:
Female

Preferred Subjects
Psychology, Algebra, SAT, and Study Skills/Organization

Experience:

I've had some experience working with children and helping them with their homework. I would love to be a tutor because I know what it takes to get the job done. I used to tutor other students when I was in high school in Algebra and English (as far as writing papers goes). I'm great at solving problems and I'll be sure to help the student gradually understand the concept before moving on to something harder. I'm a Psychology major at the University of Houston and am pretty far along in my studies. I know a lot when it comes to Psychology and a lot of other core classes. I don't have any formal experience but I learn very quickly and am great at helping other people.

Hobbies:

I have a very outgoing personality and love to work with people. I'm a go-getter and will not give up on achieving a goal whether it be for me or helping another person.

Hourly Rate:
$20.00/hr

Available Days/Times:
Any day after 4PM

Lives Near:
77004 zip code

Click here to contact this tutor
