Kara G.

Private tutor in Houston, TX

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Texas A&M University with an emphasis in Hispanic intellectual history and interdisciplinary studies; additionally I hold a double minor in English and Italian. I completed a study abroad program at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Monterrey, Mexico. My coursework included Spanish discourse analysis, Hispanic literary analysis and interpretation, Latin American history, and intercultural communication.

Experience

I have over 10 years experience teaching Spanish. I taught undergraduate Spanish labs for four years; I have also worked as a grader, translator, and currently, I work as a private tutor. I provide both online and in-person customized classes to students of all experience and of all proficiency levels, including true beginners. I work with my students to help them meet their personal goals, find their strengths, and improve upon their weaknesses. My classes are always fun and productive, and I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of grammar, composition, vocabulary, and conversation skills.
