Experience
As a student, teacher, and tutor, I am continuously involved in the learning process. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia in Nanomedicine Engineering, with minors in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering. I completed lots of coursework in the science disciplines. I also had an interest in dentistry, so I completed the required coursework for health professional schools. I expanded my study and test-taking skills by completing the Dental Admission Test (or DAT). I am currently in the application process for graduate schools, as I plan to study Bioengineering for my Ph.D. This degree will deepen my knowledge of the sciences, and support me in advancing my career as a teacher and tutor. Since my graduation from the University of Virginia, I have worked as a research assistant and laboratory manager at a variety of research and academic institutions. I have a wealth of accumulated academic knowledge, and I enjoy sharing with students. My experience as a student within education institutions gives me a helpful perspective to relate with students as well. When I am not teaching, working, or tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our therapy-certified dog, Ruby. We like to visit canine-friendly parks, volunteer at hospitals together, and go hiking.
