My undergraduate degree is in Education from Texas State University; my Master's Degree is from U of H, Clear Lake in Reading. I hold certifications in ESL and as a Reading Specialist.

Experience

I have been in education for 29 years and have tutored privately for 18 years. I am currently the Elementary Language Arts Director in a Houston area school district. I enjoy tutoring students from Kindergarten through 12 grade because I miss working with students on a daily basis.

Hobbies

I am very personable and can build a relationship with students very quickly. I create relationships with my tutoring students by being an excellent listener, asking pertinent questions and finding out what my tutoring students are interested in. I also value what they believe are their weaknesses and strengths. I believe ALL students can learn, and they all have talents. Building on these talents and building my tutor students' self-confidence is very important to me. It is important to find common ground with my students so we not only work hard; we can also build a trusting relationship.
