Experience
I am a certified teacher from Houston, TX. Teaching is my passion. My goal is to make my students successful. I believe that every child can learn, and has its own unique learning style. I have Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been teaching for ten years. I have variety of experience in teaching different grade levels. I have also taught abroad for five years. I love teaching! I teach my students with different cognitive strategies based on their learning styles. In reading, I use critical reading strategies and study skills holistically to enhance their ability and to improve their grades from D or F to A. In Math, I use different different analytic strategies to comprehend the question, and then solve it in steps. In Math, I make my students master in computation skills, word problem, and algebraic problems or geometric problems using thinking tools, mental math or drawing pictures. Comprehension is the key! I Writing is fun. I teach my students to use mental procedure to control the production of writing. My goal is to make my students successful in writing by giving them right tools. I motivate my students and keep them challenged and engaged in learning. I connect the learning with real life situation. Students feel bored when they don't know what they are leaning and why they are learning. They loose their interest in Math when they have to drill boring problem. They feel overwhelmed and show lack of interest in Math when we ask them to do challenging and discovery problems all the time, but we don't give them ample opportunities to think back and practice the problems or strategies that they have already discovered. Think back and Practice is the key!
