I earned my bachelor's in linguistics at Rice University in Texas. I have gained valuable experience while at RU, managing the student-run business while guiding employees. I also managed a restaurant group's HR department. I am driven to tutoring and education by my passion for helping others to achieve their aspirations. My experiences have emphasized the value of communication and active listening while teaching. I interweave these qualities into my tutoring sessions for optimal academic achievement. My academic background is well-suited to tutoring English, French, linguistic, and writing. I have a strong grasp of various math topics, including algebra and AP calculus. As a tutor, I strive to help my students become confident in their strengths while improving their weaknesses. I can bolster their ability to perform on the ACT, ISEE, HSPT, and SAT exams by teaching them important test-taking strategies and skills. I can help them edit their essays for their college applications or work with them to improve their study skills for self-learning. I use a variety of methods to meet each student's needs, learning style, and goals. When I'm not tutoring, I love learning more about literature in French and English, as well as developing my skills in creative writing.
