Experience
I worked as language tutor/assistant in Chinese department of University of Virginia, providing both group and one-on-one Chinese spoken language and grammar tutoring. While the working experience was inspiring and motivating, I felt like I was making a difference by teaching people contents they do not understand and seeing them learn and progress. In addition, I worked as a math tutor in 2015 summer at Rice University Tapia Math-Science Scholars Program, where my responsibilities including providing step by step help on homework assignment and clarification of certain mathematical theories. I led the construction of a library at a rural area of China, including communication with local residents as well as long-term system setup, and now the library has run for 2 years. As a Rice University International Diplomat, I work as a representative for Rice and conduct interview for prospective students.
