I am currently a student at Houston Community College, studying to be a Bilingual Education teacher. I have completed the college level courses Introduction to Teaching and Introduction to Special Populations (SPED) students. I will be graduating in May 2016 with an Associate of Arts in Teaching. I plan to continue my education at Texas Southern University Fall 2016.
Experience
I enjoy work hands on with my three year old daughter to learn the mandatory material for PreK3. Plus, I tutor my 10 year old cousin in elementary math, reading and writing. I am currently tutoring her to pass the STARR exam to exit elementary. I prefer a student-centered learning environment. This is a part of my upbeat personality and flexibility in teaching. I want the learner to always be interested in the subject and material that am using to teach. My approach is to find out interests and ask the question “If you were the teacher, how would you like to be taught?” Then I would incorporate the learner’s ideas into the material that I will be teaching them. I have an extremely deep interest in creating new material to meet the interest of my learners. This is a result of understanding that every learner is different, but my goals are always the same. I want to be a tutor to get a head start in the education field. In addition, I love to be a part of others succeeding and improving academically.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading, writing, and watching documentaries about historical events and current events. In addition, I enjoy spending time with my daughter going to the zoo or the children's museum. I also enjoy planning events for myself, family and friends throughout the year. I am interested in ways to better my community ad surrounding communities.
