I'm currently attending Texas Southern University, where I am studying for my bachelor's of science degree in Computer Engineering. I have experience working as a tutor, as well as providing mentorship to students, and instructing classes. I've worked with a diverse group of students. I tutor mostly math subjects, from basic math skills all the way through college algebra. I am also able to tutor students preparing to take standardized exams, such as the ACT. I feel like math is the subjects more students have a hard time with than any other. Throughout my studies, I have developed easier and more effective methods of comprehending math concepts, and I have been very successful sharing these insights with other students, especially those who are really struggling in math. I think most of the problem with students and math has to do with a fear of the unknown. We use language from day one, but math is introduced later in life. That's what prompted me to become a math tutor, using all the skills and techniques I've discovered over the years to help students conquer their fear of math, and increase their understanding. Once that fear is gone, I find a lot more students actually like math.
