Experience
I am a current certified classroom teacher, and I also enjoy tutoring students outside of the classroom. In the classroom, I teach both regular and AP U.S. history and writing classes. I the past, I also taught world culture and world geography classes. I attended college at Texas A&M University and American Public University System. I greatly enjoy being a teacher, and one moment I find very satisfying is when a student finally begins to understand a subject that had been confusing them and they have a "light bulb" moment. I enjoy these moments in the classroom, but I also greatly appreciate these moments when tutoring. I am willing to do whatever it takes to help motivate students to achieve great success in their educational journeys. In the past, I was also a journalist. During this career, I greatly strengthened my writing and editing skills, and I enjoy passing on what I have learned to my students. My past as a journalist has also aided my ability to make history lessons more interesting by relating history to current events. When not teaching, I enjoy reading great books and developing my skills in photography. I also like to watch baseball and go camping.
