Private tutor in Houston, TX
Vanderbilt University - Current Undergrad, Computer science
I have an extremely student-based tutoring practice in which I strive to truly understand where each student is on their learning journey and to help them learn skills to enhance their knowledge and success. I support them as they learn how their material relates to everyday life, which I believe is the only way to accomplish true learning. Much of my practice is spent tutoring students as they prepare for the ACT. It is a particular strength of mine to help them learn tips and tricks on how to succeed on the test (such as time management, speed, and thoroughness of reading questions and given texts). Each subset of the ACT has its own unique techniques (such as the importance of grammar in the English sections or the quickest way to answer math questions for the Math section), and it is my goal to make sure each student has a solid handle on all of them.In my own academic career, I am studying engineering at Vanderbilt, though I am currently taking a one year break. In addition to ACT Test-Prep, I can tutor in a variety of subjects, including Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Science. In my free time, I enjoy basketball, reading, and piano.
