Undergraduate Degree: BA in Art History from The University of Texas - Austin Graduate Degree: Masters in English from The University of Houston - Victoria I have been teaching for six years now and I love it, but I am really looking forward to working one on one with a few students. By day I teach English, specifically 10th grade Pre-AP and 12th grade (British Literature) College Prep. I have also taught AP Art History. I have been teaching English for six years at the High School level. I hold certifications in English/Language Arts 4-8 and 8-12. Not only do I teach 120 students a year, I tutor them regularly after school as part of my job. I never thought about tutoring outside of work until recently. I have received so many emails from former students thanking me for everything that I taught them their senior year because they are thriving in their college literature and composition courses. Because they have taken the time to contact me and tell me about their confidence and success, I realize that I can really help students who are struggling or need a boost in these areas. I have been trained in AP Art History through College Board's AP Institute. When I taught it in public school, 95% of my students received a 3 or higher (out of 40 students, only 2 did not receive a passing score of a 3) and 90% of them received at least a 4. I also know that I can also help at the college level because I studied Art History at The University of Texas for four years and I am a very recent Master's graduate, meaning I remember how to "do" school. I am available for tutoring in the evening and on weekends. Because I know that sometimes things come up, I do allow for an eight-hour cancellation window. I am happy to tutor out of a public library or local coffee shop. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success!

Writing - I write for and manage the blog for a non-profit called The White Buffalo Project. I also write for my own blog and I am working on some short stories. I volunteer at The Source for Women and Texas Children's Hospital. I am very physically active and enjoy healthy eating and physical activity.
