I started my college career ta 16 - going to Rice Univeristy for a Bio-engineering degree (3.78 GPA) My original idea was to become a doctor - a cardiologist in fact. But, I quickly figured that not only did I not want to become a doctor, but I actually didn't really want to spend the rest of my life in engineering/sciences at all. So, I did what any self-respecting professional student would do... I took the entrance exams for Business school and Law school - just to see what would stick. I did well - very well in fact (99th%ile on both exams), but ended up starting my own consulting business instead of going for more school. So, instead of formal education - I went to the school of hard knocks - learning marketing, curriculum design, sales, finance, and a host of other skills along the way. It's been fun. Now, I still run my business, but I do tutoring on the side because I simply love to teach - I've been teaching for 16 years - since my freshman year of college - and I don't intend to stop anytime soon.
Experience
16 years tutoring/teaching experience 4 years apprenticeship to an Educational Psychologist experience with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc 780 GMAT 178 LSAT 33 ACT 1520 SAT (back when it was out of 1600) instructor for Manhttan Prep for 8 years I understand that teaching is not about information, but about relating to the student - transmitting knowledge etc. here's an example of me teaching a 9 year old how to do top level math for a business graduate school test (GMAT) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONqwWwRUG9U
