As a former English Instructor, Social Studies Teacher, Academic Advisor, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Coordinator, I have always been a champion of education. I have experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations including immigrants, refugees, at-risk, low income, and underserved communities. My experience includes teaching and tutoring students at the elementary, middle, high school, and college level. My experience in education and the non-profit sector solidified my love for teaching and commitment to the field. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies and minors in Business Administration and Sports Management. I also hold a Master’s degree in Education in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Education.

I enjoy attending sporting events with friends and immersing myself in a new culture in the hopes of learning another language. Depending on the time of the year, I enjoy traveling with my husband. I also volunteer extensively with a non-profit organization focused on helping individuals reach self-sufficiency.
