I completed high school in Houston. I attended a high school that was geared towards the health professions. But I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Houston and I am a member of the Honor's College. I am a Honors Biomedical Sciences Major. My GPA is currently a 3.862. I hope to go into the medical field after completing my education.
Experience
I have tutored with three companies and have experience tutoring freelance. I have tutored with a company that specialized in Mathematics and that targeted all age levels. I have also tutored with an SAT preparatory company. I have also tutored with a company that targeted students of all ages and focused on Mathematics, Reading, and Writing. I scored within the 98th percentile for the Math portion of my SAT and within the 92nd percentile for the reading portion of my SAT. I have a lot of experience with tutoring people for the SAT- whether it has been one on one free- lance work or tutoring within a company. I want to be a tutor because I have always noticed that education can be very teacher dependent. Many times, when students are not provided with a proper teacher they encounter difficulty when trying to understand information and it can be difficult for teachers to give every student individual attention in a class room. I believe that by tutoring I can provide students with that one on one interaction which is often an integral part of the comprehension process.
