Experience

Some people learn one way, some people learn another way. To be effective, a tutor needs to adjust his or her teaching approach to meet the individual student's needs. I am adept at doing this, and I believe it is one of the reasons I have been successful at reaching students.Another reason is that I am willing to use unconventional methods to get my point across. If singing a song or doing a dance works, I will not hesitate to do just that. The subjects that I teach include prealgebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, elementary school math, middle school math, SAT math, ISEE (lower level, middle level, and upper level), and SSAT (elementary level, middle level, and upper level). During my more than 10 years of private math tutoring and theater education, I have always stressed to my students the importance of why, not just how.I conduct lessons with an energy that I hope to instill in my students. And I can teach people of all ages, from very young to very old.My other interests besides math include theater and dance. I am a fan of the Muppets, and I enjoy cooking as well as playing with my dog.
