Hobbies

My name is Quintessa, but just call me Tessa. It's shorter. I am an energetic, fun, and creative teacher, and I have this really strange passion for education and teaching, especially youth. They are my heart, and I truly find a great reward in watching them grow and mature as we work together on a week to week basis. As far as I'm concerned, I believe that is the whole point of success... Not just making "good grades", but making those "good grades" mean more than just the number on your report sheet/card. Improvement should start with one's attitude and even their aspirations and goals concerning their strengths and weaknesses. I'm one to attest to this statement. But if you want to know my stats: I currently hold my CDA credential, awarded to me by the Council of Professional Recognition. I am still in school on the pathway of earning my bachelor's in education (EC-6). I have been working with youth extensively (in the classroom and outside of the classroom) for the past six years and I have loved EVERY bit of it. I promise. And I am looking to engage in more years of working with youth because I love making a positive difference and impact in the lives of youth that I encounter on a daily basis. But I'm always available, open, and excited to help anyone who needs help - to the best of my ability. My heart is to help everyone improve and become better students in every subject, even those least favorites. (Because we all have them) Furthermore, my years in school were no waste. I have always been an exceptional and exemplary hardworking student through my entire years of elementary, middle and high school, as my teachers would always commend me on my work ethic. Math was always one of my strongest subjects. My junior year of high school, I signed up and completed Pre-Calculus. Then, I took a deep dive into the water by signing up for a college-level course - Calculus - in my senior year of high school. I finished with a B! Thus, my qualifications as a math tutor come from my experience and my own levels of learning upon completion of my grade schooling in these high level math courses. Additionally, I love writing. I love grammar. I love words. Most importantly, I love helping to improve these subjects for my students who seek professional and reliable assistance to become better writers and speakers. I have experience in creative writing, resume writing, business plan writing, lesson planning, public speech and much more. I have a specific way that I organize my own writing pieces, by wisely preparing a formal and extensive outline to ensure I include all pertinent information in an orderly manner in my writing report and/or essay. I can also help you develop a keen methodology of actively reading essays, reports, and books. (Active reading requires you to highlight, underline, and take notes as you read through your writing piece.) I've established a simple system that will help you study productively and effectively for your exam, quiz, or test! Let's get to work. And let me mention... again... elementary education is my primary field of choice, however, I love working with youth ages period. That's where I have been called and chosen to work in the Lord's Kingdom. I currently hold my CDA (Child Development Associate), awarded to me by the Council of Professional Recognition. I have extensive experience in working with all ages, starting from just 6 weeks old! But concerning the elementary common core, I have qualified skills in the elementary (K-5) curriculum. I have tutored a few youth in their studies, helping them improve and understand concepts they completely feared before. Teaching is my passion, but I love teaching children because of their willingness to learn new things. So let me help your child if he/she are struggling in any core subject. Without further exposition, I am here to help all who need assistance in their educational studies. I have the experience to ensure that you get positive results in improvement once you begin working with me. We will work together on strengthening those areas that we may not call our most favorite subject. But we will also have fun doing it! I am not a boring individual. I love creativity, so do not be surprised if we find a unique way to help you improve in the areas you seek improvement in! Let's get started. I guarantee you and/or your child will not be disappointed.
