Experience
I have 10 years of tutoring experience. I tutor students who are attending different public and private schools from around Houston. These schools include: T.H. Rogers, Pin Oak, Lamar HS, Kerr HS, The Village School, DeBakey, and Friendswood. I am a certified (Bilingual, ESL, Generalist) teacher with over 15 years classroom and interventionist experience in Texas schools. I tailor my lessons to the learning style and needs of each student to make sure they are truly grasping the material. I have honed this individualized approach through years of small group and one-on-one tutoring. In short, I gauge how my students learn very quickly. I will adapt to different learning styles and adjust as needed. I help engage students using different connections and question types. I diagnose where the breakdown in understanding is and fix the problems at the root. I also use relevant practice and application to make the learning stick in long-term memory. Additionally, I have over fifteen years experience in language acquisition and Spanish-English interpretation/translation and tutor students in Spanish at all levels (IB Test Prep, AP Test Prep, Spanish I-IV). I have taught Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies at various levels.
