I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in journalism and writing. My minors are in Sociology and Speech/Theatre with an emphasis in studying various cultural groups, public speaking, writing, and performing arts. I received my teaching certificate in 2005 where I studied Special Education and behavior issues as well as strategies to assist with reading and writing. At this time, I am studying School Counseling and hope to graduate in May 2016. Experience
I have been a Special Education teacher for over a decade and have spent the majority of my time in English Language Arts in the Resource and Inclusion setting. Most of my time has been spent teaching junior high although I have experience in high school and elementary school. I love to teach reading as it is what I am best at and also it is what I was passionate about growing up. I have learned various strategies to assist struggling readers in my education classes as well as by attending various workshops through the school district (s) that I have worked at.

Hobbies
I am extremely creative and studied theatre and journalism in college. In my previous career I worked in the theatre business. I also love photography and dancing. I love sharing all of these passions with my students as I believe that creativity is a very important aspect of being a well-rounded student.
