I am a casual person with a good sense of humor, who happens to enjoy watching students grow and become confident in their knowledge and academic competence. While working toward my master's degree in Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Chicago, I was given the opportunity to present research projects at philosophy conferences presented jointly by my University and SUNY Oneonta. As a teaching fellow at Citizen Schools, I also taught two sections of English and a Sci-Fi Screenwriting class. Additionally, I participated in reading tutorials for small groups. In addition to English, my tutoring experience includes Literature, Expository Writing, History, Philosophy, and Psychology. I believe that as students become better at writing and expressing themselves well, they experience personal growth. They also discover how all the great subjects they are studying fit together. My favorite work is writing tutorials, but I also have experience helping students prepare for standardized testing, college essays, and speaking in public. To me, Analytical Writing and Critical Reading Skills are other basics that prepare students for overall academic success.When I am not working, I enjoy writing, practicing, and creating music with my band. I also like to write comic book scripts and screenplays. Additionally, I love reading the subjects that are dear to my heart.
