Kaitlin S.

Private tutor in Houston, TX

Education

Graduated with honors from Trinity University with degrees in Art History and Theater; Masters Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri

Experience

I have previously tutored high school students in Corpus Christi, working on writing and reading SAT prep. I'm currently a writer for the president of Rice University, so I practice those skills every day. I met with an SAT tutor myself while preparing for the test in high school, and I know firsthand that the math tutoring helped tremendously (though not enough to make me a mathematician...sorry!). Though writing and the English language are my passions, I've always thought if I went back to school it would be to become an art history teacher. I love, love, love teaching people about art!

Availability

Tues/Thurs after 5PM, Weekends at any time

Can Meet

Up to 1 hour away at my regular hourly rate, Up to 30 minutes away for no additional charge

Hobbies

I used to be a full-time food writer for the Houston Press, so I still spend a lot of my time exploring Houston's awesome food scene. I also foster animals through various rescues in town and enjoy cuddling up with my own cat, a mug of tea and a good book. I work part time at Houston Wine Merchant selling wine, so if your child wants to learn about vino...well...wait until he or she is 21!
