Experience
I received my bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. I have four years of experience as part of the UTeach program from UT Austin. I have a teaching certificate so I can teach science at the high school level, and I recently taught Chemistry and Biology at a high school in Texas. I am now working on my master's degree in Bioscience Research and Health Policy at Rice University.Being the second of seven children, I have been exposed to working with many age groups. My excitement when discussing science is contagious to my students. Oftentimes, I use stories, games, and experiments to teach. I use stories from past scientists to support teaching the subject matter. Although science is my main passion, I also enjoy teaching math, including algebra and geometry.Along with science and math, I am passionate about music, sports, and reading. I have been involved with music since I was in elementary school. I now sing in the choir at church. I also played trumpet in the UT marching band for my entire career there. Being in the band allowed me to enjoy one of my other passions, football, as I was able to attend all the games
