I attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where I earned a bachelor's degree in English, graduating with a summa cum laude distinction. While I was studying for my degree, I also tutored French, English, and general writing in the university's center. My students came from many backgrounds and ranged from undergraduates to graduate students, including those who were learning English as a second language and students continuing their education later in life. In the summers, I helped to prepare incoming freshmen for courses at the school by strengthening their writing skills so they would be able to handle writing-intensive classes. Having also worked with elementary and high school aged students through volunteer work and child care opportunities, I enjoy tutoring the subjects of writing and reading at all age levels. I also tutor French I and French II. Because I believe that a student must learn to be a good reader and a strong writer in order to reach their educational goals and form solid opinions, I most enjoy tutoring the subjects of Writing and Literature. When I am not working, I like to read, cook, paint, and write. I am a "right brained" person, who enjoys creativity in any form.
