Private tutor in Houston, TX
Education
University of Houston - BS, Kinesiology
Experience
I am in my last year at the University of Houston, where I am a student in Biology and Kinesiology. I'm planning to pursue schooling in Dentistry after graduation this year. I first began to tutor informally when I helped some of my friends in Calculus coursework. After this, I started working as a private tutor for students at all levels and ages, most prominently students in high school. I am extremely passionate about the sciences, and I most enjoy Applied Physiology. I find it important to apply scientific and mathematical concepts to real life in order to keep students interested and invested. I feel comfortable tutoring a broad range of subjects, including Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Literature, Reading, Writing, Government, Medical Terminology, Physiology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Medicine, etc. I can also work with students in content and preparation for Advanced Placement exams in Chemistry and Biology. I also work with students on prep for the Optometry Admission Test (Quantitative Reasoning, Survey of Natural Sciences) and Dental Admission Test (Perceptual Ability, Survey of the Natural Sciences, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension). I also am proficient in the areas of essay editing, grammar and mechanics, and writing. In my spare time, I like to fish and play sports (track and field, basketball).
