I attended Hendrix College in 2013, where I received bachelor's degrees in both German and Psychology. I worked as a volunteer, where I helped new students become acclimated to campus life on the university. As a tutor, I try to help elicit correct answers from the students rather than simply give them the answer. My goal is to assist students in learning by giving them the tools to find the solution on their own. Critical thinking is not only important in an educational setting, but it will help students in all areas of life, so it's essential to guide a student towards this path rather than have him or her memorize answers.As a volunteer, I worked to help students improve themselves both academically and personally. I love teaching German and psychology. I enjoy teaching German because I can speak and understand the language, and I know the grammar rules and word structures needed to properly speak it. I also enjoy psychology because it has helped me understand more about human behavior and interactions. Psychology has taught me that understanding other people's perspective is not only important, but an essential life skill. I look forward to working with students and helping them improve their lives while completing their educational goals.
