ExperienceI tutor math, English, reading, writing, test prep, and social sciences but it is a personal mission to help students lose their math phobias. When tutoring, I try to make math fun and also a pertinent subject in students' lives. To do this I must turn abstract concepts into more concrete knowledge the student can understand. Tutoring allows me to work one on one with the student and help them succeed on an individual level. It also helps that I really enjoy fostering learning; it is like an art form to me, and I rely on due diligence to help tutees evolve their math skills. In 2002, I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I attended Lamar University later on and earned my master's degree in Education in 2011. Practicing pedagogy for 11 years, I am now available to tutor in the Houston area. I enjoy reading, chess, and basketball in my spare time.
