I am in my third year of studying bioengineering with a minor in math at Rice University. I'm an extremely driven person; I don't view challenges as obstacles to get through. I view them as just a way to improve myself. I have six years of experience tutoring students, ranging from grade school to college aged. While my main focus in tutoring is on essay editing (technical and non-technical), I have vast experience in tutoring in English, Spanish, history, math (algebra I and II), and chemistry. I have also taught test prep, in the areas of SAT math, verbal, writing, critical reading, and math. I particularly enjoy teaching editing, SAT prep, and math because you can track the student's progress and results clearly. I have taught essay editing for college students, middle schoolers, and high schoolers, both technical and non-technical. It's important for me to get to know my students one on one over a long period of time so that I can adapt my teaching tactics to their particular learning style. When I'm not working, I enjoy trying new foods; trivia; 90's sitcoms; and watching, playing, and talking about sports (particularly basketball, football, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and soccer).
