Experience
My love for science and math started at young age, when I attended Michael E DeBakey High School in Houston, Texas, a high school for health professions. My favorite courses were AP Physics and Calculus. My interests in science continued as I attended Howard University in Washington D.C. where I studied Biology. I have taken numerous additional courses including Biochemistry 1 and 2, Physiology, and Endocrinology through University of Houston as a part-time student, and I recently received my master's from Columbia University in New York City in Biotechnology. Overall, I have completed almost thirty courses in science. My work experience includes teaching 10th grade Chemistry and 9th grade Algebra at a charter school in Houston, as well as Nutrition and Anatomy and Physiology 1 through a community college where I am a part of the Biology Department.Although science is my passion, I also tutor in study skills and organization, as well as math, including elementary math. I like to focus my teaching to different learning styles. I plan to teach and pass the love of math and science on to others until I retire. In my free time, I like to read and spend time with my family.
