Experience

I hail from southern California (San Diego), but I made the move to Houston, Texas in 2007. I attended Rice University and graduated with an environmental services degree as a pre-med major. After graduation, I decided to spend 12 months working as a social worker in a Honduras hospital. My job there was to work in the cancer ward, organizing activities for the kids. When my time was finished in Honduras, I found myself back in Houston. I returned to Rice, but this time my role was a lab tech. I have submitted my application to med school. While waiting for the admission cycle, I want to begin tutoring again. I love to tutor! I get tremendous satisfaction in the process of helping a student achieve his or her goals and being a part of that journey to success. My tutoring experience, which was while I was a high school student and a college freshman, involved mostly helping students prepare for the rigors of the ACT and SAT. However, given my academic experience in science and math, I am confident that I could help any student be successful, regardless of the subject. From a personal perspective, I like to attend concerts, listen to music, and make films.
