My bachelor's degree is in political science with a minor in Spanish from the University of Houston. Currently I am a post baccalaureate in History at Sam Houston State University with a 3.14 GPA in my major.
Experience
The majority of my coursework in political science focuses on writing about political literature, American political theory, history, and thought. My interests are in reading and writing about literature. The subjects I tutor are English, history, political science, government, and ACT. I tutor for all grades through college. Specifically, I have taught AP English, class writing assignments, SAT reading response questions, and college admittance essays. I'll present concepts, provide examples, and some inquiry to students so that they can form an understanding of the material, respond to questions, and create their essay drafts. I've found that content methods keep students interested and allow for understanding of texts. I make use of subject elements and background knowledge not just to create a collection of facts but also to get students to appreciate the value of what they are reading and achieve an excellent grade. This helps the reading and writing process. I like to tutor and help students in school and college improve their writing. I enjoy writing, reading political theory, and historical texts, and furthering of the mind to reach our fullest potential. I bring forward a passion for learning, inspiration, and a personable, easy-going personality.
