Experience
Hi! I've been tutoring since high school, and I absolutely love working with students to help them master the material and empower them with study skills and knowledge in order that students may feel confident and work towards academic independence. Beginning in high school, I tutored peers as well as worked for two summers in elementary bilingual and ESOL education through Katy ISD. In college I volunteered at two elementary schools and worked at the Texas A&M University Writing Center. At the Writing Center I worked with undergraduates and graduates in improving their writing skills through one-on-one sessions; additionally, I spent two semesters as a Writing Assistant (a writing specialist type of TA) for a senior-level economics class. While in graduate school I have tutored privately for elementary-MBA students as well as guest lectured and earned a certification in Gender Studies. I was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for research in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and recently returned from 10 months abroad.
