Hello! Unfortunately, I am unable to tutor outside of Rice University campus/Rice Village, as I recently moved here with no car. ------------------------------------------------- -3 years of tutoring math with Mu Alpha Theta (East Brunswick High School), -has taught various students while in college, and tutored about half a dozen students for several months, -5 years of teaching Chinese yoyo at Mid-Jersey Chinese School, -Rice ChBE Best Teaching Assistant Award, Fall 2013. (can tutor all high school level math except statistics (most familiar as a student and tutor); can tutor bio/chem/physics, albeit rusty; can also tutor SAT subject tests in math/sciences) -SAT: 2250+ -AP tests (all 5s): Biology, Chemistry, Physics C, BC Calculus, AP US History, English Literature, English Language -Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society) co-president; EB Math Team vice-captain; Varsity Golf, captain. -New Jersey Governor's School of Sciences Scholar -PEI Grand Energy Challenges grant, to work on organic solar cells -UCSB RISE REU, working on microtubule dynamics (published, Valdman et. al 2012, Yu et. al 2013) -worked with Howard Stone in the Complex Fluids Lab at Princeton University (conference talk, Kuei et. al 2013) -currently working with Lisa Biswal in Soft Matter Lab at Rice University.

My name is Steve, a current graduate student at Rice University, pursuing a Ph. D in Chemical Engineering. I have years of experience teaching in both casual and formal settings, and find nothing more satisfying than helping a student or a friend understand, enjoy, and even surpass me (qing chu yu lan!). Outside of normal academics, I teach and perform Chinese yoyo around the university and the state. I also dance for Princeton University's Triple 8 Dance company and Rice University's Funkonomics Crew, where I choreograph, dance, and teach.
