Experience
I have been tutoring/helping with homework practically my whole life starting with my three younger siblings. I nannied/tutored every semester while at UT Austin from early elementary to college students. I continued tutoring students after graduating from college in various subjects in all age groups from elementary to high school. During the 2012-2013 school year, I was a Reading Intervention Specialist/ Program Coordinator to 60 students in a Title I school in Dallas ISD. 96% of students accelerated their rate of learning; 82% of students narrowed their achievement gap. 44% of students are English Language Learners. During the 2013-2014 school year and summer, I was an Assistant Coordinator as well as as PK/Kindergarten teacher for the Chinese Community Center Youth Program. The Youth Program has 80 after-school students and about 150 summer students, ranging from Pre-K to high school. My core class was comprised of 20 Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Our program offers homework help, educational activities, recreational and physical activities, and snacks. I tutor because I have a genuine love and appreciation for education and learning in general. I love being able to help students be successful in school and furthermore, I endeavor to inspire a long lasting interest and enthusiasm for learning and education in all my students.
