Experience

I graduated with a BA in Creative Writing with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Houston. I am also currently pursuing a Master's of Education in Counseling at the University of Houston as well. I speak English, Arabic, and some Spanish. I am a certified teacher with certifications in EC-6, English 7-12, and ESL EC-12. I have been teaching for six years. I am also a Writer for Writers in the Schools (WITS), and I have taught at their creative writing camps for the past three years. I am passionate about working with young people and helping them achieve success in their academic careers. Reading and writing can be really frustrating, and I want to help ease that frustration and help students better understand the content.

Some hobbies of mine include reading, writing, yoga, hiking, and painting. I am interested in literature, education, and mental health. I usually like to read young adult fiction, but I also enjoy reading short stories and memoirs.
