Education

I am graduate of The University of Houston (2016), with a degree in Public Health and minor in Biology. I just recently completed a year long Post-Bacc at Texas Southern University to further my knowledge in upper level biology courses. I finished with a 3.73 GPA.

Experience

I am currently an associate teacher within HISD and am currently applying to medical schools all over the United States. I've tutored several college and high school students within the courses of Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, General Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, AP Biology. I have received mostly As in these subjects, as I have a natural affinity to the sciences. Tutoring comes natural to me, as I have a little brother who is undergoing the same footsteps of his older siblings in the health sciences. It is very rewarding helping someone with a subject that they may have a little trouble in, and seeing a huge breakthrough in their grades as well as attitude. Many people get discouraged when they haven't seen improvement, and may suffer from learned helplessness. My job is to break them away from that frame of mind, and to tackle their weaknesses head on, with methods that would make the subject easy to memorize in the least boring ways!

Hobbies

I am a youth minister at my church. Being around kids of various ages is something I'm very used to. We participate in various community projects as well a church wide events! I am an avid basketball player. I have been head coach for my high school basketball's intramural basketball team since I've graduated from there! I am currently doing research in the lab on Tardigrades, also known as water bears. These organisms are said to have lived several millions of years ago. According to theory, they can live in the most extreme environments such as volcanoes and even withstand a nuclear blast! I am also a self taught hyper-realistic portrait artist and pianist. As a kid, I would draw to keep me out of trouble and the skill has exponentially improved over the years, which has brought me various clients for commissions!
