Teaching is an art form. There's not a right or wrong way to do it - just a way that works best in the moment. I believe that one of the most important aspects of becoming a good teacher is having the ability to connect with your students. As a teacher, you're expected to do more than just prepare your pupils for upcoming tests. You also need to build relationships with them so that you better understand their needs, expectations, strengths, and weaknesses. Once you have a better understanding of what the student is looking to achieve, you can help them set goals and work towards reaching success inside the classroom as well as out in the world. One of the reasons why I love tutoring is because it gives me the chance to really make a difference in someone's life by teaching them real-world skills, such as good study habits, critical thinking, and organizational skills. In my experience, students are more eager to learn when they can see how their coursework can help them practically, outside of academia. When I'm not tutoring, I like to spend my spare time as a volunteer teacher. My other hobbies include traveling abroad and learning how to speak Russian.
