I have a Bachelor's Degree in journalism from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. During my time in college, I worked for the school newspaper. I began as a reporter and copy editor and ended my college career as the editor in chief. After graduation, I worked for several different newspaper in various roles. Currently, I have left the field of journalism and am working on obtaining a teacher certification in Texas. I have a strong command of verbal and written forms of English. I am passionate about finding ways to help students engage with their work and develop a passion for learning. My goal is to share the knowledge I have with others in an effective manner. I also have strong interpersonal communication skills, which I use to create an environment that is both proactive and productive for my students. This environment is based on the concept of developing new ideas and trust in the classroom. I am comfortable tutoring students in comparative literature, college English, journalism, public speaking, English grammar and syntax, literature, phonics, writing, and reading. I am also experienced with Chicago style, MLA, and AP in terms of formatting. As far as hobbies go, I enjoy skiing, disc golf, baseball, basketball, football, music, movies, writing, and reading.
