Experience

I graduated from the University of Florida with my bachelor's in sociology. While enrolled at UF, I enjoyed helping my fellow students as they worked on their college essays and prepared for tests. As a tutor, my aim is the same as it was with my classmates. I strive to support a student's academic growth by providing the tools and explanations necessary for the student to fully understand the material. I can tutor students in elementary through college-level subjects, as well as provide test prep for the SAT, ACT, and other exams. I know valuable strategies for editing college essays to achieve top scores. My communication skills allow me to break down concepts in ways that the student is most susceptible to. I understand that all students learn differently from one another and work hard to fit my teaching style to the student's learning needs. I believe hard work and resilience are invaluable. When I'm not tutoring, I can usually be found with my nose in a book. I particularly enjoy reading cookbooks to find new recipes to try out. I travel, enjoying a variety of cultures and experiences. In addition, I enjoy working out to remain healthy.
