I specialize in teaching math and my goal as a tutor is to help students overcome their fears when it comes to learning math. I feel like students benefit a lot from having a teacher who gives them all of their attention and shows that they genuinely care about their students. Students who receive this type of care from their teachers tend to have a better understanding of the subject material and experience less anxiety in the classroom. I also like to encourage students because it helps build their confidence. When I was younger, I was chosen to participate in a non-profit organization that helped disadvantaged youth. I was chosen for this non-profit organization because I had excellent grades. This program helped me immensely because it took me out of the economically disadvantaged school I was in and placed me into a top private school. I initially struggled because I was anxious about my new environment. I worked with a tutor who helped me gain confidence and enabled me to reach my full potential. This experience taught me the value of tutoring and made me want to be a tutor myself. I can tutor students in marketing, finance, algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and pre-calculus.
