Private tutor in Houston, TX

Education

B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Biology from McNeese State University. Currently pursuing a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston.

Experience

I have been privately tutoring elementary through high school aged students, predominantly in math, for the last 3 years. I first got into tutoring when my neighbor asked if I would help her son who was struggling with high school. We started out working once a week, but eventually we were working together 5 times per week. From this initial contact with a student as a teacher, I realized I had a knack for connecting with younger students and identifying what was holding them back from achieving the grades they are capable of. I hope to use this knack to help your student. I am qualified to help your child with biology and psychology because of the B.S. and minor I received at McNeese State University. I have even published an article in the American Journal of Psychological Research. I have gained an understanding of these topics which allows me to easily put the subject matter into a form young students can understand. My focus on math comes with the ease with which I have always tackled mathematical problems, as well as the many courses I have completed at the college level in mathematics.
