Hobbies

Hi! I'm Kate and I'm excited to work with you! I am currently finishing up my first year at UT studying Environmental Science with a focus on geology. Basically that means I spend a lot of time outside looking at rocks, plants, and more as well as studying the hard sciences and math. Aside from my major, writing is my first love and reading is one of my strongest skills. When I'm not crunching numbers I spend time in the arts scene in Austin and volunteering at Austin Pets Alive, a no-kill animal shelter. My personal teaching philosophy is focusing on the individual. I'm very committed to making sure that my students are focusing on what works for them so that they can feel successful when they return to the classroom. I feel confident teaching math, science, reading, and writing up to a college level. That definitely doesn't cover everything I'm good at, however, so if you don't see something you need on my list of subjects, please don't hesitate to ask!
