Experience
Experience: Certified Texas 8-12 Math Teacher Current full time 10th/11th grade math teacher Current community college economic teacher past 8th grade math teacher 3 semesters college tutor 2 semesters private tutor - elementary school During my experience as a full time instructor, I discovered that students do not learn the same way. Small group differentiation is the key to success. Many students need the one-on-one interaction or small group instruction to stay focused and have their unique learning styles identified and addressed. I help students learn by explaining hard to understand concepts through applied examples. No matter the age, we all learn by making connections between new materials and wired in knowledge. Once the connections have been made, students begin to think independently and are able to apply the concept to different problems. Many students lack the foundation to build upon. I find that creating a step by step skeleton with intuitive explanations help students ground in the foundation much more effectively than through mere rote memorization or drill worksheets.
