Experience

I have just recently transferred to the University of Houston and have a Supply Chain Management and Education degree. I spent my freshman year attending the University of Texas at Dallas and graduated from Kempner High School. In high school, I tutored Algebra 1 and 2 and worked for a year at the Dallas Community Lighthouse tutoring kids from kindergarten to eighth grade in subjects including Math, Language Arts, and Reading. I always assess my student's learning style and rate of learning in order to develop an individualized approach that fits the student. I feel this is very important because each student learns differently and if I can find the "right way" to teach a specific student it not only improves the overall effectiveness, but it makes the entire learning experience more enjoyable. I tutor in the areas of Algebra, Elementary and Middle School Math, Languages, English, Essay Editing, Grammar and Mechanics, Study Skills and Organization, Public Speaking, STAAR Grades 3 to 8, Test Prep, and Cantonese. I was born in Guangzhou, China, and in my spare time I watch Hong Kong dramas on TV to improve my Cantonese. I also like listening to pop music and playing tennis.
