I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching math. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Truman State University. I also minored in statistical methods. I am comfortable tutoring students in a wide variety of math related subjects, including algebra 1, algebra 2, calculus, calculus 3, differential equations, geometry, pre-calculus, statistics, calculus 2, and trigonometry. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with the Python programming language and can tutor students in technology and computer science. I am also able to help students prepare for standardized tests. I also have experience helping students at the adult level who are attempting to complete their GED.  My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes the fact that math is really about learning the process of arriving at a conclusion rather than memorizing formulas. My goal as a tutor is to help students acquire the tools they need to answer math problems on their own. This method of learning is not limited to math and my hope is that these tools will help students in other courses and in their careers after school as well. In my free time, I like to play the piano. I have a particular affinity for playing music from video game, television, and movie soundtracks.
