Experience:In my day job I am a professional writer employed at Vacation Publications here in Houston, where I write and edit for three magazines: Travel 50 and Beyond, Vacations, and Where To Retire. It's a great job, but I find myself needing a little extra money at times, and tutoring's a nice change from sitting in front of Microsoft Word all day.

The founder of University Tutor was my neighbor at Rice my freshman year, and I have worked for the company since just after its founding, 5 years ago.

In addition, I worked at Richmond Tutors, the most respected one-on-one tutoring studio in my hometown of Nashville.

I got a perfect 800 on my verbal SATs back in the day, and as a tutor I think of standardized tests as my bread and butter. I recently took the GRE and got a 740 Verbal (99th percentile), 730 Math (78th percentile).

AP tests I got a 4 or 5 on include English (both Lit. and Language), Latin (III and IV), American History and European History.
Hobbies:I have an extremely active (overactive?) social life and have learned a lot about how to balance that with high personal achievement. It takes some discipline, but I've always managed to do it. I definitely understand the challenges students face!
